A 10s cheque sent by British Rail to a Chalk Farm resident in settlement of a claim for soot-blackened washing may have national repercussions. Chalk Farm Tenants and Residents Association is taking legal advice on whether the settlement will create a precedent, which could mean a flood of similar claims.
