From vaulted gothic church penthouses to exposed brick hipster hangouts and pop art pads, here are the airbnb dens to rent right now
If you haven’t heard of Airbnb, you must be living under a rock. The online renting website allows individuals to rent properties directly from the owner of a property who lists it on the site, and provides an easy and efficient way of letting out your home, albeit to strangers.
From castles in Scotland to private islands in the Maldives and treehouses in the deep south of America, Airbnb lists everything and anything which could be used as a resting place, mattress-permitting. Here’s what the site serves up in our neck of the woods.
Camden Cool, Camden
At £140, this Camden maisonette is spread over two floors and benefits from a backyard. The kitchen of the period home has exposed brickwork and open shelves as does one of the double bedrooms, while the furniture in the living area adds a little rustic charm to this urban home.
Gothic Pile, Hampstead
For £195 a night, this apartment is undeniably unique. Found in a church tower, the flat offers a roof terrace, high vaulted ceilings, beams, spiral staircase, stained glass windows and a study in the church turret. The whole flat is equipped with a Sonos sound system.
Luxury living, Hampstead
Home to an interior designer, this Hampstead home is five floors of luxury lounging space. It boasts an on-trend marble and metallic kitchen, cinema room, Nordic loft sauna and an indoor jungle…intriguing.
Pop art pad, Marylebone
With candy coloured decors and golden wallpaper, this pretty pad is primed for art lovers looking for a fun place to rest their head. At £347 a night in the heart of Marylebone, the two bedroom apartment is a feel good hub in the centre of London.
Family hideaway, Crouch End
A Victorian home in Crouch End, this £335 a night home is perfect for large families. With five bedrooms including two foldable single beds, two children’s beds and a cot, the home is surrounded by parks and the garden features garden furniture, barbeque and a trampoline for little ones.
Villa life, Tufnell Park
This Tufnell Park pad is primed for those looking for a summer villa for a few weeks, although it doesn’t come cheap at £300 a night. Maintaining the period features of the Victorian home, the property has a garden with picnic table and includes a welcome hamper on arrival, so let’s hope the weather holds out.
Modern Maisonette, Chalk Farm
This stylish maisonette is the epitome of contemporary cool. With light interiors throughout and furniture that pops with colour, the home has an outdoor patio area and a pastel frontage in true Primrose Hill fashion. It doesn’t get more Richard Curtis’ London than this. £495 per night.
