Simon Rosenblatt of high end estate agent Aston Chase may sell some of the swankiest flats London has to offer, but in a parallel universe, he’s a rock god

What’s special/different about your agency?

Most certainly our team. As an independent company we are able to provide a highly detailed service to our clients, we have a highly creative and driven approach to all aspects of our business with particular focus on clear communication, which enables us to consistently achieve positive results.

Where do you live and with whom?

I live in Bushey Heath, Hertfordshire with my wife and son.

Why did you buy your current property? What’s your favourite thing about it?

Our house offered conventional living accommodation compared to our previous town house which was over 3 floors. We love our beautiful garden where our son enjoys playing on his trampoline.

If you weren’t an estate agent what would you be?

Either a musician (as I’ve played drums and guitar for most of my life) or a pilot as I have a passion for flying.

When did you buy your first property and what was it like?

We bought a modern new build flat in 2006 which was perfect for us in terms of size and proximity to friends and family, the development had a Virgin Active and Waitrose meaning we could work off our bad eating on a weekly basis.

What’s your dream house?

We are marketing a house in Hamilton Terrace, with over 10,000 sq ft of accommodation, an indoor swimming pool, games room, cinema and an incredible principal bedroom suite. It would fit my purchase criteria fairly well…!

What’s the most shocking/surprising thing you’ve seen on the job?

I arrived at a block of flats with a prospective buyer who required a dedicated concierge service. Unfortunately for me, the porter was asleep at his desk, snoring quite loudly with his feet up and headphones in. They didn’t buy the flat.

In what ways has the north London property market changed since you started out?

The most significant change has to be property values, albeit it’s never surprising considering the continual demand for prime London property from both domestic and international buyers.

What are your top tips for things to do in north London?

In North London I’d recommend taking a walk through Hampstead to Regents Park on a sunny day, enjoying the eclectic mix of shops, restaurants and stopping for a cappuccino in Primrose Hill along the way, on a nice evening you can dine al-fresco in St Johns Wood or put your feet up at one of the Everyman cinema’s. Don’t forget La Creperie in Hampstead on your way home…
