It’s the interiors look that has launched a thousand copy cat styles, but this St John’s Wood home has had the real deal Kelly Hoppen treatment from the Dragon’s Den star herself.

You’ll need to dip into your own dragon’s horde to buy it, as it’s on the market for a fearsome £6.5 million.

A-list Interior designer Hoppen has breathed a little fire into a period property, transforming the 4,332 sq ft spacewith her signature monochromatic mix of elegant grey hues and muted earth tones for the interior decor, finished off with statement lighting and candy-coloured artwork.

Perhaps her days as a Dragon on the BBC show have had an lingering effect on the designer, who seems to have selected statement light fittings reminiscent of delicate dragon scales and medieval style metal cage pendants.

Residents can turn up the heat in the private gymnasium, whilst air conditioning throughout the house ensures that those burning up into a sweat can cool off. Alternatively, on chillier days, under floor heating warms frosty toes. There is also a large cinema room where fans can watch their favourite dragons get slayed in How to Train Your Dragon, Mulan and the Hobbit on the big screen.

For those who like to live in the lap of luxury, Hoppen has created a delightful den in which to get hot under the collar in the principal bedroom, which features feature drop pendant lights as well as a roomy en-suite bathroom and a dressing room. There are three further bedrooms and two additional bathrooms.

Parties in the Hoppen house are hot, hot, hot with an integrated sound system installed throughout the house and Lutron lighting to control the mood of the party. For those who want to drag-on the party outside, there is a 50 ft south facing landscaped garden. Guests can park their coats in one of the two guest cloakrooms and their cars in the integral garage and off street parking spaces.

Despite its glamorous refurbishment, the home has retained many of the original period features such as high ceilings and large windows, which allow light to flood in to illuminate the spacious reception rooms.

Hoppen is no stranger to the area, having designed the interiors of Regal Homes’ The Compton development on Lodge Road, launched in February this year. The development by Simon Bowden Architects features gym, residents’ lobby and penthouses with roof terraces in the ten storey building designed internally in her trademark clean-lined, neutral-toned and sleek, opulent style.

The home on Springfield Road is located on a tree lined road on the west side of St John’s Wood within reach of the High Street and is served by the Jubilee Line via St John’s Wood Underground station. The well regarded, international American School in London is also close by.
