This new build house on Wellgarth Road, Golders Hill Park, comes seeped in local history, but inside it’s an ultra modern delight.

The Lutyens is one of six new homes to make up the ambitious Hampstead Reach project, which takes its design cues from the Arts & Crafts style.

The Arts & Crafts movement at the turn of the last century sought to reject the perceived superficial nature of things created in new fangled factories.

Its architecture was concerned with the vernacular, placing a modern twist on the local style and building materials in order to give the appearance that a particular building had evolved organically over a period of time.

Hampstead Garden Suburb itself was formed through the movement, thanks to the work of social reformer Henrietta Barnett who wanted to create a model society.

So it’s fitting then that this new development from Barratt Homes has sought to knit itself into the existing architectural landscape.

But whilst the exterior is built in homage to the 19th century, inside the £4.8 million house is completely cutting edge.

The kitchen comes stuffed to the gunnels with gadgets, including a Miele oven, five zone induction hob, a warming drawer, Siemens dishwasher, German-designed soft close doors and an all important wine cooler.

The bathroom has a freestanding bath tub from French design provocateur Philip Starck, a rain shower, and heated wall hooks for a super snugly towel experience.

There’s underfloor heating throughout, as well as a futuristic infinity range fireplace by Charlton and Jenrick.

This turnkey property has been interior designed by Blocc interiors, with polished tile floors, thick carpeting and bespoke fitted wardrobes adding a touch of luxury on each floor.

No detail has been spared, from the shimmering gold accent wall over the master bed to a staircase carved from black oak with a glass balustrade.

So if you want a slice of local history with none of the hassle of a listed building this stunning new build will be right up your street.
