This historic detached residence dates back to the early 1800s and has a National Heritage blue plaque commemorating former owner Sir Harold Gillies, a pioneering plastic surgeon, who moved to the property in 1882.
Gillies, a New Zealander who became known as “The Father of Plastic Surgery”, developed many of his techniques during the First World War, helping soldiers who had sustained facial injuries in combat.
