Lord Sugar’s Queen of Mean has designed a house that’s as pretty as its postcode. So what does a millionaire’s fantasy home look like?
Linda Plant has garnered a reputation as Lord Sugar’s acerbic sidekick on BBC’s business talent show The Apprentice. The businesswoman, who puts the candidates through their paces in the interview episode, made her own fortune in interior design with her company Homerun.
Her latest project is an elaborate Grade II listed mansion on one of the famous Nash terraces surrounding Regents Park that’s on the market for just shy of £12 million.
Plant took a less hardline approach to the home than she has become known for on the show. “I like soft bedrooms and colours that make people feel relaxed,” she told the Times.
A case of softer on the inside, perhaps? That’s undoubtedly true of the elegant home that has clearly been designed with families in mind. The master suite occupies an entire floor featuring a dressing room securing privacy for parents, whilst two of the four further bedrooms have en suites. Little ones can be entertained in the basement media room and one of the two reception-come-family rooms.
The formal dining room does has a hint of Lord Sugar’s boardroom, though, with its large glass table and regal blue décor, all included in the furnished property. Elsewhere you’ll find animal print, bold patterns and colours, a luxury home straight out of Del Boy’s wildest dreams.
But this isn’t 1980s Peckham, it’s exclusive, upper crust, 21st century Primrose Hill. Stucco-fronted, the period properties which surround Regent’s Park were commissioned in 1811 to John Nash. Sitting on illustrious Prince Albert Road, the house is an exclusive property the winners of the series could only dream of.
=The six bedroom home provides for family and friends with a private drive with parking space for five cars, two large reception rooms and three gardens to choose from at the front, rear and side of the house, all safely tucked away behind electric gates.
Unsurprisingly for the price range, the home has a dedicated staff bedroom with en-suite shower room built in.
Lord Sugar might be able to afford the hefty price tag, but business hopefuls might have to keep dreaming if they want to unlock the door to the home.
On the market by Aston Chase for £11,850,000, a pretty groundbreaking business idea will have to be pitched to Ms Plant and Lord Sugar. Until then it’ll bode well to aim high and think like Del Boy: this time next year, we’ll be millionaires.
