Swimmer Henry Losner is given leave in the High Court to continue his legal battle for the right to swim in the Hampstead Heath men's pool any time he likes. But he was warned it could be an expensive battle. He argues there is no legal power under which any part of the Heath could be closed to the public at any time

Despite the GLC's decision to increase its precept on London boroughs by 93 per cent, it looks as though Camden's rate increase could be as low as 10 per cent. Yet only six months ago, council officers gloomily forecasted an increase of about 40 per cent and that Camden could run up a deficit this financial year.
