The annual 24-hour run organised by the Motor Cycling Club from London to Edinburgh commences. Competitors and their friends have supper together at the Gate House Hotel, Highgate, and then line up in the North Road. The first man leaves at 10 o'clock and the remainder at 30 second intervals, motor cycles first, then tri-cars and lastly motor cars. A breakfast stop is arranged at Newark, where they can fill petrol, water and oil tanks.

Members of the Eligible Social Circle for Lonely Ladies and Gentlemen, founded last October in West Hampstead, take a train from Marylebone to Harrow for a summer outing to visit the church, the Peachey Stone where Byron wrote many of his early poems, and Harrow School.
