Eclectic selection for Suburb's annual summer show

On Sunday an annual summer show for Hampstead Garden Suburb will be launched in the Lutyens-designed Main Hall of Henrietta Barnett School in the Suburb's Central Square. Curator Jeff Jackson brings together an eclectic selection of modern British and contemporary paintings, works on paper and sculpture with fine examples of Arts & Crafts furniture.

Of special interest among the 42 artists represented are John Bratby, Ithell Colquhoun, Eric Rimmington, Julian Trevelyan, Carel Weight and Gerald Wilde.

Furniture designers include William Morris and Hugh Mackay Baillie Scott, the architect of a set of houses on nearby Meadway.

The Hampstead Garden Suburb Summer Exhibition, presented by Arts and Crafts Online and the Odette Gilbert Gallery, runs until August 10, Mondays to Saturdays 11am to 5pm, Sunday noon to 5pm.

A feeder exhibition runs concurrently at Joseph's Bookstore, 1257 Finchley Road, NW11, weekdays 9.30am to 6.30pm, weekends 10am to 5pm.
