Young and old danced together to classics and chart hits at a Valentine's Day tea dance for seniors at a secondary school.
Sixth form pupils, aged between 16 and 18, from Haverstock School in Haverstock Hill, Chalk Farm, partnered about 60 elderly people at the afternoon dance.
The students, who organised the event, served up homemade scones and cakes made by the school’s Year 9 pupils.
A band made up of staff members played old favourites and contemporary hits.
The tea dance is the sixth in the school’s history but Nikki Haydon, community partnerships and extended services coordinator, said it was the most lively yet.
“It was lovely to see younger people dancing with older people and there was a really good rapport between the old and the young,” she said.
