A school has hosted ten summer courses to help youngsters make the move from primary to secondary school.
Haverstock School, in Haverstock Hill, Chalk Farm, has run summer schools in numeracy, art, sport and science and engineering during the school holidays for about 25 years.
Children enrolled at a performing arts summer school put together a comedy play on a disastrous fictional school holiday in just three days. The final performance, accompanied by music composed and performed by students, was watched by Camden mayor Cllr Larraine Revah.
School spokeswoman Nikki Haydon said: “The schools are a really good way for the children to get used to the school and get used to Haverstock.
“They get to know teachers and the school environment in a more relaxed way.”
