Schools honour Camden mothers from across the globe

Mothers from countries across the world have received awards at a ceremony to celebrate their integration into the community.
Parents of children at Camden schools were given certificates for completing courses designed to prevent them from becoming isolated in a new community.
The mothers were all from non-EU countries, and some have only been living in the UK for less than a year.
As part of the Camden Project at five Camden schools, they were invited to take part in courses in English and parenting, in which they learnt more about the British school system.
Mayor of Camden Cllr Larraine Revah handed out awards to the mothers at a ceremony at Gospel Oak School two weeks ago.
Camden Project co-ordinator Dawn-Maree O’Driscoll said: “They came together not knowing one another to form friendships.”
