Muslim and Jewish women and girls came together to learn from one another's culture and religion, with high hopes of kick-starting joint initiatives to help the refugee crisis.
Open-minded worshippers at Muswell Hill Synagogue joined in afternoon prayers with Muslim women at Wightman Road Mosque, before inviting their new friends back for tea and a tour of the synagogue.
It was revealed by Muslim organiser Bibi Khan that Wightman Road mosque was a synagogue up until the 1980s.
“It’s so important in the current political climate to show how much Jewish and Muslim women have in common – a shared outlook on many things and a real desire to coexist happily,” said Jewish organiser Ruth Jampel.
