Speech therapists from Camden travelled to Parliament to spread the message about how their work is transforming lives for people of all ages.
Sophie Jankel, Hannah Coles and Tricia Laing met Glenda Jackson, MP for Hampstead and Kilburn, as part of the Giving Voice campaign.
It promotes their work helping a huge range of people who have difficulty eating, swallowing or speaking.
Ms Jankel, who works with children and adults with learning disabilities and mental health problems in Camden, said: “It was fantastic to take the message to Westminster that our profession really does transform lives.”
Ms Jackson said: “I was surprised to learn of the huge variety of people that speech and language therapists work with - from children with autism to older people recovering from strokes.
“It was fascinating to hear how speech and language therapy is literally transforming so many people’s lives in Camden on a daily basis.”
