The Jack Petchey Foundation, which makes grants to programmes and projects that benefit young people aged between 11 and 25, saw 54 Camden youngsters receive awards, as well as two members of staff.

Among those championed on the night was William Ellis School student Joshua Coffey, who has shown his breadth of talent through his involvement in drama, music and basketball.

Year 9 student Myrtle Miller has also drawn the plaudits for her impact at Parliament Hill, with her achievements including taking part in an art project in partnership with Lauderdale House.

Mayor of Camden, Cllr Jenny Headlam Wells, said: “I was very impressed by the achievements of our young people in Camden.
