There were happy faces at Highgate Wood School as students collected their GCSE results.

Photographer Siorna Ashby was down at the Montenotte Road school to take pictures on an emotional day for students.

Adrian Hartley, assistant headteacher and Key Stage 4 lead, said: “I’m really pleased.

“There were so many happy faces. It’s lovely to see. Top results went up – 9 to 8s were up by 5per cent.”
