A secondary school has cancelled a trip to Paris in the wake of the terrorist attacks which killed at least 129 people on Friday.
La Sainte Union School in Dartmouth Park still plans to take pupils to France in early December but they will now visit the Loire Valley instead of the capital city.
Headteacher Maureen Williams said: “We do plan to go ahead but we have changed the itinerary as we were going to send pupils for a day in Paris.
“But we feel sure the trip will be low risk because they are going to a small French town and we will be extra careful about all aspects of security.”
The Foreign Office advises British nationals intending to travel to Paris or France to exercise caution in public places and follow the advice of local authorities.
A statement on the school’s website says: “We have decided to change the itinerary of the trip and replace the day trip to Paris originally planned with another cultural visit in the Loire Valley area – not in the Paris or Ile de France area.”
Pupils at Hornsey School for Girls in Crouch End today showed solidarity with the victims of the attacks by holding placards in a moving lunchtime ceremony.
Yesterday, they stood in silence to remember those who died.
