Former Hampstead School pupil and England footballer Rachel Yankey celebrated the achievements of a youth football charity at Wembley Stadium last weekend.
The Arsenal Ladies player, who is England’s most-capped footballer, presented certificates and awards to 41 young people in recognition of their contributions to charity London Football Journeys (LFJ) at the national stadium last Saturday.
Ms Yankey, 34, and LFJ founder Alex Baine are former pupils of Hampstead School in Westbere Road, Cricklewood.
The charity aims to bring together 11 and 15-year-olds from different communities across London through football-based programmes.
On Saturday, guests were introduced to LFJ’s programmes by young ambassadors, went on a tour of the iconic Wembley Stadium and enjoyed food and refreshments.
