Young electrician gunned down on Harrow Road

A 22-YEAR-OLD electrician was shot dead on Saturday while picking up a takeaway on Harrow Road.

In an unexplained killing Daniel Omari Smith was gunned down with a single bullet as he returned to his car after ordering food from KFC.

Police were called to the scene at around 12.15am following reports of the shooting at the junction of Harrow Road and Sutherland Avenue.

Mr Smith, who lived locally with his mother and two sisters, was treated by paramedics at the scene but died just before 1am.

A murder investigation has now been launched and detectives from Operation Trident are appealing for information about the killing.
