A notable former member of Muswell Hill Golf Club has been made honorary vice-president of Middlesex Ladies – just days before she sadly passed away.

Joyce Cohen was also a distinguished member and a wonderful supporter of Middlesex Ladies – also known as the ‘Blue Birdies’.

And, although she was very poorly last month, she managed to leave hospital and wish the Middlesex team the very best as they took on the leading amateur golfers in southern England at Muswell Hill.

On the final day of the event, Mrs Cohen was awarded the honorary vice-presidency of Middlesex Ladies. She passed away just a few days later on June 18.

Her funeral took place the following day at Hoop Lane cemetery in Golders Green. She will be missed by many – a fine lady, a fine Blue Birdie.
