Julian Jones scored a hole in one during Muswell Hill Golf Club’s championship qualifier at the weekend – but it was Rowan Baker who won the competition.

Baker completed the course in 73 shots, ahead of second-placed Nick Clarke and Paul Tueton, who shot 75 and 76 respectively, with the top 16 players going through to the matchplay stage.

The Mid-Handicap Championship was also held, over 36 holes, and Colum Elliott-Kelly hit 85 in his first round and 82 in his second to win with a total score of 167.

Alden Knott was second after posting scores of 81 and 88 for a total of 169, and Neal Smart was third as his rounds of 90 and 83 gave him 173 overall.
