West Ham manager Allardyce felt Joe Cole’s debut performance against Manchester United after signing from Liverpool could not have been better.
The midfielder teed up James Collins twice to give the Hammers a 2-1 lead after Tom Cleverley’s opener for the Red Devils.
But Robin van Persie struck late to take the tie to a replay.
The West Ham boss said: “It’s obviously a fantastic debut for him and a great reception from the fans, which must have made him feel really good, but the whole team has played really well.”
