Tottenham midfielder Mousa Dembele has admitted that he is surprised to see former club Fulham languishing in the relegation zone.
The Whites have lost six games on the spin and parted company with Martin Jol on Sunday.
Spurs travel to Craven Cottage tonight and Rene Meulensteen’s side will be hoping to get the Dutchman’s reign off to a winning side.
And Dembele, who moved across London to White Hart Lane in August 2012, hopes that Fulham do find their form again, although, naturally after tonight’s game.
“Yeah, for sure [I’m surprised about their league position],” Dembele said.
“They are a very good team and I was sure they were going to do well this season.
“I like the club very much so I hope they are OK, but tonight I want us to win of course.”
Dembele was speaking minutes before the sacking of Jol was announced and said on the former Whites boss: “When I was at Fulham I liked him very much. He was a very good manager.”
