Spurs marked FA Girls’ Football Week by giving more than 50 players from three of their college programmes the chance to play at the club’s state-of-the-art training centre in Enfield.

The students, who study on the Tottenham Hotspur Foundation’s Education and Football Development Centre programme at Barnet & Southgate, Epping Forest and Hertfordshire Regional colleges, took part in drills and matches under the watchful eye of Spurs Ladies manager Karen Hills.

The programme aims to inspire academic achievement for girls aged 16 to 19, offering an environment in which they can strive off the pitch, while also receiving high-standard football coaching.

A pathway is offered through to the Spurs Ladies senior sides, and current Barnet & Southgate student Ronnell Humes is a regular for the reserves, while she has also appeared for the first team and set up the winning goal in the FA Women’s Premier League Cup final at the end of last season.

Hills said: “The college programmes are growing from strength to strength. The session at the training centre was fantastic, with over 50 girls across the three college programmes coming together to have the opportunity to train at a world-class facility.”
