ON THE DISPLAY AGAINST PORTSMOUTH : "We were confident after [beating] Newcastle but this was difficult and it is frustrating.

"Things aren't going well and the critical moments are going against us."

ON NOT being awarded A PENALTY FOR HANDBALL AGAINST LASSANA DIARRA: "For me, it was the difference. The match was 0-0 when the referee whistled for the first penalty and yet when the same thing happened in the second half, there was no whistle. The same thing happened last week against Wigan - we all thought it was a penalty then, but no whistle. It is very difficult."

WOULD THE OUTCOME HAVE BEEN DIFFERENT: "You never know if we would have gone on to win from there.

"But if it had been given it's possible the confidence of the team would have been up and it would have been possible to try and win the match in the final 30 minutes.
