Spurs manager Andre Villas-Boas revealed Jermain Defoe is likely to return in Wednesday’s Premier League clash against Norwich after missing today’s 2-1 FA Cup defeat to Leeds through injury.

Defoe was absent from the Spurs squad after picking up a hip injury in training, leaving his side without an out-and-out striker.

Villas-Boas admits his side missed the 30-year-old against Leeds but expects him to be fit to face the Canaries.

“Unfortunately today we missed Defoe, who always gives us an option, through injury,” the Portuguese told ESPN.

“But we’ll have him back for the Norwich game.”
