Southend manager Paul Sturrock knows that Brentford are the favourites for tomorrow’s FA Cup clash.
The Shrimpers beat the Bees in the Johnstone’s Paint Trophy but the most prestigious cup competition provides a different game.
Sturrock told the club’s official website: “The bookies are not daft. They (Brentford) will be the favourites for the game.
“They’ve been on a very good run and have got themselves 2nd in League 1 which is some achievement.
“But my boys are smarting after two defeats in a row so I’m hoping we will see a reaction from them.
“It’s a game I think we can win if we go about it in the proper manner, but there’s no doubt it will be tough.”
Tottenham have missed their chance to sign Joao Moutinho after last summer’s primary transfer target agreed a five-year deal with Monaco.
