Reading boss concedes defeat in race for Spurs, Liverpool & Newcastle target

Transfer news: Brian McDermott last night ruled out the possibility of Blackpool’s Thomas Ince arriving at Reading on transfer deadline day.
The talented 20-year-old has been linked with a host of top sides, including Spurs, Liverpool and Newcastle.
But after watching his side draw 2-2 with Chelsea last night, McDermott revealed that he expects the youngster to stay with the Seasiders.
“Thomas won’t be coming here,” he said. “Blackpool are very strong about wanting to keep him.
“I’d be amazed if Blackpool lose him in this window.
“My gut feeling is they’ve managed to keep him.”
