Millwall manager Kenny Jackett was pleased with the performance of Karleigh Osborne after his side beat Preston by a goal to nil.
The defender made his first start for the club since September and Jackett was pleased with what he saw from the former Brentford man.
“I like Karleigh. I think he’s got a really good future,” he said.
“He’s been edged out by Shittu and Beevers. He had a slow start through pre-season but his form picked up.
“I’m confident in him. If I can get other positions like the centre back spot then we’ll have a very good side.”
Jackett revealed that his side’s FA Cup victory over Preston is not crucial to his January funds.
The Lions will face Aston Villa at The Den in the fourth round of the cup in a tie that will certainly attract a large crowd.
“We’re not black and white about our playing budget,” he said. “We think ‘what do we need to do’
“There are limitations but it’s a situation where it’s worth £67,000 and it’s a big one for us.
“It will help us but it’s not a direct correlation with what I spend on players.”
Both Liam Trotter and Danny Shittu were left out of the home side’s line-up and Jackett revealed that they had injuries.
“Trotter and Shittu were both injured,” the Lions boss revealed.
“Trotter with a back injury and Shittu with just a dead leg. I hope both will be available for next weekend.”
