Reading manager Brian McDermott bemoaned his side’s luck and did not feel they deserved to lose 3-1 at Tottenham.
Spurs recovered from an early Pavel Pogrebnyak header with a Michael Dawson strike.
Emmanuel Adebayor gave Tottenham the lead before Clint Dempsey’s deflected effort sealing the points late on.
“We had three opportunities at 2-1, if we’d got the second goal it could have gone either way,” he said.
“It is disappointing that one of the chances didn’t go in, they were good opportunities - it wasn’t really a 3-1 game, that didn’t really tell the story of the game.”
Emmanuel Adebayor said Clint Dempsey “showed Tottenham the way” as his equalising goal inspired Andre Villas-Boas’ side to a crucial 2-1 win over Stoke City on Sunday.
