Junior Morais netted his second goal in successive matches as Hendon’s remarkable upturn in form continued with a 2-1 win at Bury Town on Tuesday.

The teenage winger, who is on loan from Wycombe, took advantage of hesitant defending to fire the Greens ahead in the ninth minute.

Lee Angol and Dean Cracknell both went close to increasing the visitors’ lead, but it was defensive midfielder Kevin Maclaren who eventually made it 2-0, rifling home a 35-yarder with eight minutes remaining.

Craig Parker pulled a goal back for Bury in added time, but that was not enough to prevent Hendon from collecting an eighth victory in their last 10 league games.

The resurgent Greens are now 11th in the Ryman League Premier Division table, having spent the first half of the campaign in or around the relegation zone.
