Crystal Palace manager Ian Holloway was full of praise for Stoke manager Ian Holloway.
The Potters are the benchmark for a promotion-chasing team like Palace, having gone up in 2008 and then improved year on year in the top flight.
“They are an established Premier League team that Tony Pulis has meticulously built,” added Holloway.
“Every year they are getting a better standard of player and I think it’s quite phenomenal what he has achieved.
“When he took over they were in a similar position to I am at Palace and look what he’s done. No-one expects them to have a blip in their season, they are towards the top half of the table, they’ve been in Europe and in the cup competitions so it’s fantastic what he has achieved.
“I could play my maximum team with all my top players and still get absolutely whupped, so we’ll have to try our best because genuinely I think we are light years behind them. But in one match, who knows?”
Emmanuel Adebayor said Clint Dempsey “showed Tottenham the way” as his equalising goal inspired Andre Villas-Boas’ side to a crucial 2-1 win over Stoke City on Sunday.
