Ryman League Premier Division:
Hampton & Richmond Borough 1 Hendon 2
Hendon moved to within touching distance of the Ryman League play-offs as they hung on to win 2-1 at Hampton & Richmond Borough on Tuesday.
The Greens – who were struggling to stay out of the relegation zone until Christmas – are now just four points off the top five.
On-loan Wycombe youngster Junior Morias, who has played a key part in Hendon’s revival, put them 2-0 in front in the first half at Hampton before a nervy second-half display left them clinging on.
Morais scored the first from the penalty spot on 30 minutes after Lee Angol was fouled, and made it two seven minutes later. Charlie Moone gave the home side hope, but Hendon held on to win.
Andre Villas-Boas thinks Tottenham may have succeeded in their final day push for Champions League football had referee Andre Marriner awarded Gareth Bale a penalty - rather than book him for diving.
