Hendon manager Gary McCann praises Dagenham & Redbridge loan signings Joe White and Liam Gordon after a week at the club.

The Greens brought in forward White and defender Gordon this week from Daggers and despite losing both matches since their arrival McCann has high hopes for the pair.

They both featured in the club’s 3-1 defeat to Corinthian Casuals in the Velocity Trophy quarter-final on Tuesday evening.

White remained in the starting line-up for their 3-0 defeat to Sutton United in the FA Trophy second round while Gordon was dropped to the bench.

“We were a little thin on the ground with illness and injury,” he said.

“I just wanted to balance off a couple of different areas across the pitch in Joe White and Liam Gordon.

“We’re a little light defensively and with Kezie Ibe moving on I just felt need to add someone offensively.

“That was very much in the thinking with them and they’re two very talented boys and recognised by Dagenham as players they really feel have got a big future in the game.

“They’ll add to what we’ve already got and have obviously experienced two defeats back-to-back but they’ll be a big plus for the squad along with Corey Addat.”

Hendon had to bring in goalkeeper Addat in on loan from League Two outfit Coventry City this week due to injury to first-team keeper Tom Lovelock.

“We had to bring him in after the injury to Tom Lovelock,” McCann said.

“A lot of credit goes to him, he only met the players on Thursday night.

“He’s a young talented goalkeeper that is highly recognised by Coventry as being another one for the future.

“I think there is areas of his game we’ll want to improve but his all round performance and the importance of some of his saves was excellent.”
