Greens have four points from their opening two games of the new season

Hendon will look to maintain their unbeaten start to life in the Evo-Stik South Premier South when they host Farnborough on Saturday.

The Greens have taken four points from their first two games of the new term, including a 3-0 win at home to Walton Casuals on Tuesday night.

Luke Tingey opened the scoring for James Gray’s men against Casuals with a goal in the 17th minute.

Ricardo German then doubled the advantage for the Silver Jubilee Park outfit when finding the target in the 25th minute.

Tyriq Hunte netted in the 63rd minute to round out the scoring for Hendon at home to Walton.

That success followed a 1-1 draw away to Frome Town on the opening day of the new term on Saturday.

After a goalless first half in Somerset, the Greens had taken the lead through German in the 67th minute.

Gray’s guys looked on course to begin the term with a victory, but conceded in the 89th minute as Frome snatched a point.

The Silver Jubilee Park outfit will hope to avoid any late drama on Saturday when they welcome Farnborough for another league encounter.

Managed by Spencer Day, Boro currently lead the win with maximum points from their two games so far this term.

The Hampshire club won 3-0 at Staines Town on Tuesday night after beating Wimborne Town 3-1 on the opening day of the season last Saturday.

With Farnborough have started strongly, and also being able to call on former Football League players such as Jefferson Louis and Lenny Pidgeley, it looks a difficult task for Hendon on Saturday.

But having started the term strongly themselves, the Greens will be confident of extending their unbeaten run.

Gray will be happy with how things have gone so far, but will hope his team can collect a second straight win in the league against Boro this weekend.

The Hendon boss will also hope his side can collect another clean sheet to boot, but will be aware how tough that may be with six goals in two league games so far this campaign for Day’s Farnborough.
