London Senior Cup quarter-finals: Hendon 1 (Sprague 55) Balham 2 (Ujkaj 34, Olutunde 50)

Hendon are out of the London Senior Cup following a 2-1 loss at home to Balham in the quarter-finals.

The Greens, who are looking to make the play-offs in the Bostik Premier, suffered a surprise defeat to Balham, who play in the Combined Counties Premier Division.

Gary McCann’s men fell behind in the 34th minute when Arsen Ujkaj opened the scoring for the south Londoners.

Five minutes into the second half, Balham doubled their lead when Ibz Olutunde found the target.

Oliver Sprague pulled one back for Hendon in the 55th minute to offer hope of a comeback at Silver Jubilee Park.

However, the Greens were unable to find an equaliser as they suffered a surprise loss in the London Senior Cup.

Attention now turns to the league, with McCann’s men at home to Dorking Wanderers this Saturday.

Hendon: Hamann, Murphy, Sprague (Gordon 62), Tingey, H Joseph, Wise, Walker, Campbell-Young (Nathaniel-George 62), Z Joseph (Nogueria 81), Muir, Cole.

Subs: Diedhiou, MacLaren.
