England legend: Liverpool can catch Chelsea, Spurs, Arsenal and Everton

Liverpool legend John Barnes believes that the Reds can catch Chelsea, Tottenham, Arsenal and Everton in the race for the top four.

The Merseyside outfit are outsiders to claim a Champions League spot but the former England international believes that it is possible.

“It’s the Premier League,” Barnes told LFC TV. “You look at Manchester United and Manchester City and, apart for City in the last month, they are the two consistent sides.

“Who is going to finish third, fourth, fifth, sixth and seventh? You’re looking at Chelsea, who all of a sudden are not performing, and you’re talking about Tottenham, Arsenal, Everton and ourselves.

“Are we that far off Tottenham? Would it surprise you if Tottenham lost next week? Chelsea are the same. Arsenal are dropping points. Apart from Manchester United, everyone is - because it’s a difficult league.

“I know the teams above us are going to drop points. You cannot say the top four are playing so consistently well that we’ve got no chance. What we have to do is put a run together.”
