Transfer News: Schalke’s managing director Horst Heldt has claimed that Lewis Holtby can move to Tottenham in January, if the club’s agree a fee.
The 22-year-old is has agreed a deal to move on a free transfer at the end of the season but a move could take place beforehand.
Heldt said: “If Tottenham ask for Holtby in the January window, we will talk to them about it.
“Nothing has happened yet, but, from our point of view, we are prepared to speak to them.
“It would have to be done quickly, because we would have to find a replacement for him.”
Emmanuel Adebayor said Clint Dempsey “showed Tottenham the way” as his equalising goal inspired Andre Villas-Boas’ side to a crucial 2-1 win over Stoke City on Sunday.
