FA Cup third qualifying round: Chippenham Town 4 Hendon 1

Hendon are out of this season’s FA Cup after a 4-1 loss at Vanarama National League South club Chippenham Town in the third qualifying round.

The Greens had only progressed from the second qualifying round on Sunday after beating Lancing of Southern Combination Premier Division.

Away to Town, the Evo-Stik South Premier South side fell behind in the 24th minute when Nat Jarvis netted for the hosts.

The Bluebirds doubled their lead eight minutes later when Nick McCootie found the target.

On the stroke of half-time, McCootie added his second as James Gray’s men went into the interval trailing 3-0.

George Rigg then added Chippenham’s fourth nine minutes into the second half to all but end the match as a contest.

The Silver Jubilee Park outfit were able to grab a consolation goal, with the prolific Ricardo German scoring in the 67th minute.

Hendon will hope to return to winning ways on Saturday when they visit Hartley Wintney in the league.

Hendon: Boness, Hall, Chappell, Tingey, Jonas, Mbengui (Griffith 63), Ngamvoulou (Crichlow 60), Dombaxe, German, Hippolyte-Patrick, Brown (Morgan 38).

Subs: Hunte.
