Transfer news: Brazilian superstar Neymar has put the mockers on a move to Europe, for now, by ruling out a move in the January transfer window in favour of staying with Santos.

Chelsea have been keen admirers of the 20-year-old who has also been linked to Barcelona, Real Madrid and Manchester City.

But Neymar is prepared to snub the attentions of some of the biggest clubs in the world to remain with his boyhood team.

“I am happy at Santos, with my family, son, friends, so it’s not the moment to leave,” he told TV Bandeirantes.

“That moment will come because I have the dream of playing in Europe since I was a kid, but that moment hasn’t come yet. Today, I don’t see myself playing for any other team [but Santos].”

Reports this month suggested Manchester City had sent representatives to Brazil to thrash out a deal but Neymar is not narrowing his options for when he eventually does leave his homeland.

He said: “I don’t have any preference for a specific club or country.”
