Velocity Trophy third round: Hythe Town 1 Hendon 2

Hendon stretched their unbeaten run to nine games in all competitions last night with a 2-1 win at Hythe Town in the last-16 of the Velocity Trophy.

The result books the Greens place in the quarter-finals of the tournament with a chance of silverware on the horizon now.

It didn’t always seem like Hendon would make it through, however, when they fell behind after four minutes following a Sid Sollis goal.

Keagan Cole got the visitors back on level terms just 10 minutes later though, and there was still time for another goal before the break.

Two minutes before half time, Kezie Ibe got on the scoresheet to put Hendon in front and they never looked back at Reachfields Stadium.

It maintains their remarkable form since the beginning of November and they will aim to keep up their excellent run on Saturday when they visit eighth-placed Margate in the Bostik Premier.
