Boro boss feels officials could have been firmer with Blues on Saturday

Haringe Borough boss Tom Loizou admits he was disappointed with the performance of referee Dean Skipper in their 1-0 defeat at home to Hertford Town in the Bostik North.

Boro slipped to a fourth straight loss in the league after Michael Toner struck in the 32nd minute for the Blues.

Town also had Jay Lovell dismissed for a second bookable offence in the 89th minute, but Haringey boss Loizou feels the visitors should have been reduced to 10 men earlier in the match.

“Hertford got their noses in front with the penalty. They got a lot of luck, but worked hard enough for their luck,” he said.

“I’m not saying we didn’t work hard enough, but I feel the referee should have got hold of the game a little earlier with the time wasting and the antics from their dugout, which was very unprofessional, especially what they were saying to the referee.

“It took until the 89th minute for them to have someone sent off, but it should have happened a lot earlier.

“Did we deserve anything out of the game? I think we did. We created a lot of chances, and Hertford got one chance and converted it.

“That’s what has happened the last two or three games.”
