Haringey climbed up to third place in the table with a strong second-half showing at Coles Park.

After a scoreless first half, the home side took the lead just past the hour mark when Anthony McDonald sent a downward header from a right-wing cross inside the far post.

And it was 2-0 just eight minutes later as Michael O’Donoghue stabbed home from close range when Sudbury keeper Paul Walker failed to smother a low cross from the left.

Tom Loizou’s men set the seal on their success in the last minute of normal time when substitute Jordan Edwards was sent through and kept his composure to drill a low shot inside the post.

A third successive win, without conceding, allowed Borough to leapfrog Canvey Island – who lost 1-0 at leaders Hornchurch – ahead of a trip to Tilbury on Tuesday.

Haringey: Pajetat, Olufemi, O’Donoghue, Hervel (Luke 59), Mitchell, Stone, Ademiluyi, Dtassi-Sambu, Oyinsan (Edwards 66), Staunton, McDonald (Appiah 75). Unused subs: Benjamin, Asamoah.

Attendance: 119.
