Demba Ba is to make his Chelsea debut against Southampton as Fernando Torres is dropped to the bench.
Ashley Cole will captain the side in the absence of John Terry, Frank Lampard and Petr Cech.
Chelsea: Turnbull; Azpilicueta, Ivanovic, Cahill, Cole (c); Ramires, Luiz; Moses, Mata, Hazard; Ba.
Substitutes: Hilario, Ferreira, Bertrand, Lampard, Oscar, Marin, Torres.
