Arsene Wenger believes Hector Bellerin is one of the best full-backs in England after another fine display against Sunderland.

The Spanish right-back set up two crucial goals in the second half for the Gunners as they came back from a goal down to beat Sunderland 3-1 in the FA Cup Third Round.

Making his trademark overlapping runs down the right, Bellerin twice played low crosses across the six-yard for first Aaron Ramsey and then Olivier Giroud to sidefoot home.

At the age of just 20 Bellerin has become a key player for Arsenal after taking Mathieu Debuchy’s spot as the team’s first-choice right-back last season.

Wenger hailed Bellerin’s performance against Sunderland and gave his verdict on where the Barcelona product ranks among Premier League full-backs.

“Bellerin became stronger and stronger,” Wenger said after the game.

“I felt in the last 20 minutes every time he went forward he created a chance for a goal.

“I don’t know if he’s the best but of course he’s up there. Look at his defensive and offensive numbers. The fact that he’s only 20 years old means there is a lot to come from him.”
