Arsenal left-back Kieran Gibbs has signed for West Brom on a four-year deal for a fee believed to be £7 million.

The 27-year-old England international joins up with Tony Pulis’ Baggies after turning down Watford and Turkish side Galatasaray this summer after failing to agree personal terms.

Gibbs, who has been at Arsenal for 11 years becomes West Brom’s fifth signing of the summer.

He is looking forward to joining up with his team-mates – but Gibbs first paid tribute to Arsenal.

He said “It’s been an amazing journey to play for me childhood club.

“I would like to thank Arsene Wenger for giving me the chance to start my career and fulfil a dream.

“Thank you to all the fans, the Arsenal staff and especially my teammates who have been there during the special moments and have helped me thorough some tough times.

“West Brom have made some good signings and I feel this is a good move for me.”

However questions have to be asked about the club’s bargaining powers as the fee represents poor value for a player they were asking £15m for fewer than three weeks ago as Arsenal reputedly turned down a £10m bid from the Baggies shortly afterwards.
