Arsene Wenger has confirmed that three Arsenal players will not be available to face Chelsea in the Community Shield this weekend.

The Gunners are almost at full strength for Sunday’s match, which will pit Wenger against arch rival Jose Mourinho.

But star man Alexis Sanchez, David Ospina and Danny Welbeck will play no part in the game.

“At the moment we have Ospina just coming back [from holiday] and Sanchez who is coming back next weekend,” Wenger said. “Everyone else should be available apart from Welbeck.”

Sanchez and Ospina are late arrivals to the Arsenal squad this summer due to their involvement in the Copa America over the summer. Sanchez’s Chile side won the tournament.

Welbeck, meanwhile, has player no part in the club’s pre-season as he is still recovering from a knee injury that he suffered near the end of last season.
