Brazil winger Malcom is generating a lot of transfer talk, and his latest social media post has only served to fuel speculation.

The 20-year-old posted a photo on Instagram yesterday of himself learning English as the Bordeaux star continues to draw interest from both Arsenal and Manchester United. is also reporting United have been put off by his £44m price tag while the Gunners opened talks with Malcom at the end of December so this is a story which will run and run.

With reports growing Arsenal players have had enough of Alexis Sanchez and are demanding Wenger sell him during this window the Independent are reporting North London interest in an Argentine winger.

Boca Juniors wide man Cristian Pavon is believed to be on Arsenal wish list of players to replace Alexis Sanchez. The report states the Gunners ‘have commissioned extensive background checks on the player already.’

The rumoured fee is £20m with add-ons, but the stumbling block for any move could be Boca’s reluctance to sell as they try to win the Copa America title this season. Pavon has scored three goals and assisted six in 12 Argentine top flight games so far.

It’s not a South American-themed transfer round up today, we promise, but if the Daily Star is to be believed, Arsenal are leading a pack of up to 10 clubs chasing Brazilian international, Fred.

No, not the ineffective centre-forward who played for the Seleção at the 2014 FIFA World Cup, rather the midfielder from Shakhtar Donestk.

The Ukrainian side have made big money from selling some of their stars before, such as Fernandinho and Willian, and they are reportedly looking at another big pay day after slapping a £30m price tag on the 24-year-old.

The Gunners squad could have a very samba feel by the end of this month if the rumours are true.

Another mooted transfer is Schalke 04’s Leon Goreztka. The highly-rated 22-year-old has not only been on Arsenal’s radar but Liverpool and Manchester United’s as well.

His club have demanded the unsettled midfielder tell them where his future lies before January is out – with bosses at the Bundesliga side expected him to announce soon if he intends to sign a new deal, according to the Manchester Evening News.

Goretzka’s deal expires at the end of this season with Barcelona and Bayern Munich also believed to be admirers.

Now for a transfer story a little closer to home. Sky Sports broke reports of an inquiry by Arsenal into West Brom centre-back Jonny Evans over the weekend with other reports of a £25m bid being lodged this month for the Northern Irishman. H

owever, in the wake of the 4-2 FA Cup third-round defeat to Nottingham Forest, Arsene Wenger shot down these rumours. In his post-match press conference the Frenchman said: “I cannot give you any news on any transfer because we are not close to signing anybody.”

Well that rumour has been put to bed then.
