Arsene Wenger has denied rumours of a move for sidelined Chelsea star David Luiz ahead of London derby.

The £30 million rated centre-half had been dropped from boss Antonio Conte’s line-up for confronting the Italian about tactics following a 3-0 defeat to Roma.

The Brazilian hasn’t played a Premier League game since but soon after Conte had dropped him, Chelsea insisted Luiz had injured his knee.

Wenger denied a bid, saying: “I don’t want to speak of any names, but these reports are wrong.”

Jamaican wonderkid Leon Bailey has been strongly linked with the Gunners and according to Sports Illustrated, they are leading the pack to sign the Bayer Leverkusen left-winger for around £30 million.

The 20-year-old has six goals and four assists in the Bundesliga this season, ripping the league apart with his blinding pace since joining a year ago.

However, Leverkusen’s director Jonas Boldt told German magazine Kicker: “There is no offer for Leon. We have absolutely no thought of selling him.”

Long-linked with a move to the Emirates, Sevilla’s Steven N’Zonzi looks like he might be on the move.

The Guardian reported the Frenchman is keen for move back to Britain, and the 29-year-old former Stoke man would be ideal to bolster Wenger’s defensive-midfield.

Sevilla boss Vincenzo Montella has given the Gunners hope, saying he is not confident his £35 million rated man will stay. N’Zonzi has been drawn comparisons Arsenal legend Patrick Vieira for his power mixed with technical ability.

N’Zonzi was certain he wanted to leave the club in December after a bust up with Eduardo Berizzo, who was sacked as the boss of Sevilla. Montella has hinted that N’Zonzi may be happier at Sevilla now: “He has been training very well and he has a great attitude.”
